Another
very long weekend at Whilton.
Dry for
the most of the weekend and luckily the only spot of rain during racing was the
lunch break on Sunday, a relief that there were very few tyre changes.
Cameron
ran fast on Saturday pulling a 46:96 and Courtney also ran quick pulling high
46's most of the weekend. Unfortunately for Cameron he had two large accidents
and a lot of small incidents, one on Saturday and on Sunday.
Cameron
fought hard all weekend trying to retake places lost during these accidents and
having started last in the second heat and having been at the back twice after
that including on lap one of the final it was a good spirited performance. Due
to the lack of "visibility" from the stewards he was taken out in a
revenge ATTACK in the final with absolutely no comments from any official but
fortunately not sustaining any damage or injury from being T-Boned off after
making up six places in 3 corners meant he was yet again running at the back
with a 10 second deficit on any real competition, His 15th place with 10th
fastest time shows just how much determination he has when needed.
On the
other side of the garage Courtney had a few problems early on Saturday and then
pulled it out of the bag on Sunday as she crossed the line in 9th place with
Cameron in 15th position setting a time good enough for 10th. A good weekend
for both racers.
In our
garage this weekend was also Ollie Varney offering us some great experience and
advice as well as setting amazing times and wining the final, congratulations
Ollie, great performance and well deserved victory.
Thanks
must go to Jonathan Stilp again, the mans a magician and we are getting faster
every weekend, before too long we will be right up there fighting for some
trophies with all drivers.
