Description

This weekend was the first full race weekend for Anwar as well as another race day for Cameron.

On Saturday Anwar got straight into the battle and was running incredible times for only his second time out in a Rotax and based on our stop watch he was running top 5 times. Sunday came as a disappointment to us all due to some bad tyres and the final got even worse with a front right puncture after a wheel locking session on lap 1. We believe that if we can get a good set of tyres on him for next month we will be very close to the podium.

Cameron only ran on Sunday due to family commitments on Saturday and then with a clutch failure in heats one and 2 he was right on the back foot and slow. Then a change of engine, carb settings and he was off, the 3rd heat saw him battling in a group that was from 7th to 17th place and trading places every lap with a personal best lap time at this track more than 2 tenths faster than he has been before. Then the final, after 2 bad heats we started 22nd from the 30 strong field and knew we would be in a bit of a battle. A good start and a very encouraging performance meant a 15th place finish and the highest climber in the field, due to the battling he only had 2 clear laps at the end chasing down James Hassle, the first clear lap he overran Wilkins and lost bags of time but the second clear lap that was also the last lap saw him achieve a 43.31 only 3 tenths off the fastest lap and with brakes that were starting to fade due to a blown seal. Very strong performance and yet more signs that Cameron will be up at the sharp end very soon.
